Why Fast?

At the very beginning of each year we want to give God first place. When we decide to
fast we are setting ourselves apart declaring we want to hear from Him. There is no
pressure to fast. Do not make the decision to fast just because someone else is doing it.
Fasting does not make someone more spiritual or better than anyone else. It is simply a
personal decision between you and God.

When to Fast?

We always encourage everyone to be led by the Holy Spirit as to when to fast. It could
be one meal, one day, three days, seven days or even twenty-one days. That is strictly up to you and our Father.

How to Fast?

Biblical Fasting is the total or partial denial of food and water. Fasting is not refraining from social media, television, sports or books. When we deny our bodies from food or water there is not a wrong amount or right amount. No one knows you like you know you. Let’s be wise and not overdo or put our health at risk. God has blessed each of us with wisdom. Ask the Lord for wisdom as He leads you in the right direction.

What Happens When We Fast?

Our bodies are cleansed physically. Our hearts become more open to hear the voice of God and the link to our Father becomes more clear as we are strengthened spiritually.

Different Ways to Fast

Partial Fast
 
Involves abstaining from certain foods or meals, such as the Daniel Fast, abstaining of vegetables and water. Daniel 10:3

Complete Fast

Involves abstaining from all food and drinking only water or juice.

Liquid Fast

Involves abstaining from all food and drinking various liquids such as

smoothies, juices, and pureed soups.
