Day 28: Triumphant

Pastor Ellen Bilsborough
Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

What an amazing text today.  Our God is mighty and triumphant.  But that’s not how the world sees Him.  The meek and lowly Jesus has displaced the high and holy Jesus in the minds of many believers.  A sad weeping Jesus is often seen by artists in pictures of what they think our Savior looks like.  Some wear a crucifix around their necks.  Others pretend they know Him and use His name only when it suits them.  This is how the world depicts our Lord as some kind of ornament.

But we have the answer if we have the faith and wisdom to apply it.  The answer is Christ is victorious over all.  He lives forever above the reach of His foes.  All He has to do is speak and it is done.  Heaven and earth obey Him.  He holds the earth in His hands and can speak whenever He wills.

We stand today in victory.  In the triumph of our Lord and Savior.  Because He lives, we live also.  Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory (making us conquerors) through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord), knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile (it is never wasted or to no purpose).  I Corinthians 15-57-58
