Pastor Ellen Bilsborough
Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find? Proverbs 20:6
Pastor and I are so blessed with our GLC Family. So many are faithful to their calling and assignments from the Lord. God looks at the way we act, not by the way we talk. We can prove our faith by our commitment to it. At times, we arrange things so that we can get on well enough without divine aid. We like to take control of our own lives and our own situations. But at the same time we reach out to God and say we need your help. I can't do this without you. We boast in the Lord but watch carefully that we never get caught depending on Him too much. After all, we can handle it right?
God wants us to trust Him completely. It’s so tempting to control things ourselves. We have to all come to the place in life that we realize we have nothing but God. Everything will pass away and at the end of the day all we have is Him. We can’t control tomorrow, but we know who holds tomorrow in His hands. It would really be a tragic thing if we journeyed through life doing things our way and at the end discovered we never really trusted God in the first place. Do we truly trust Him and do we truly know Him. A faithful person is one who hears the voice of the Shepherd, but not only hears but obeys His voice. This verse is powerful and a clear wake up call to all of us. It begins with many claiming unfailing love. There will be many who say I know God. Let’s invite God in our lives now, faithfully staying true to our calling, unwavering in our faith.
