“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:8
I love how this verse says day and night. Meditate on God’s word all the time. Spiritual progress is so important and should never be neglected or taken for granted. Why after so many years of serving God do Christians find themselves no further along than when they first believed?
Let’s start our days with a solid foundation. “Have a Little Talk with Jesus”. I know you love the Lord, but do you talk to Him?
There are believers who are satisfied to give God so little, and when Sunday comes they expect to instantly hear from God from the worship team or from their Pastors, and when that doesn’t happen they yet again begin a discouraging week without victory.
God wants us to live life abundantly. The only way we do this is to be connected to our Father. To talk to Him, and hear from Him are the two most important things in our lives. During these next thirty days I hope to inspire you to want more of Him and realize that without Him we can do nothing. “It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me.” So powerful.
A thousand distractions will try and keep us from God, but if we are wise we will cast off every bad thought and make room for more of Him. Some things we can neglect, but to neglect communion with God is to hurt ourselves where we cannot afford it. God will respond to our efforts to know Him.
“That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death….I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:8, 10, 14
