Matthew 5:8 | Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Springtime and the Easter season have always been a reminder to me of new beginnings, and sowing good seeds. Working in my garden, planting, watering and watching things come back to life has been something I have enjoyed since I was a little girl. Watching my Grandfather tend to his large garden has been my early inspiration. I would watch him work so hard and wait a long time to see his little seeds start to grow. I used to say, “I will never work that hard planting seeds in dirt,” and now I find I’m just as persistent and diligent as he was.
Lets face it, planting is hard work. If we neglect our hearts and allow worldly thoughts and actions to creep in, we become like a garden filled with weeds and we will soon look unkept and overrun by the cares of this world. That’s why it’s so important to plant good seeds. Thy Word have I hid in my heart. The Word of God planted in our hearts is so important. Then those seeds planted in our hearts come to live when we boldly speak His word out of our mouths. Out of our mouths shall flow rivers of living water.
I'm looking forward to taking the next thirty days with you and rediscovering what Easter is really all about. We love the chocolates, the bunnies, the eggs and Spring Fest at GLC, but it’s so much more than that. Our opening verse says it all, "Blessed are the pure in heart." What does this really mean? You may be saying, I have a good heart. Yes, I’m sure you do. But God examines every heart and He truly knows our motives and intentions.
Easter is such a glorious reminder that God created us to live life and life more abundant. God always looks at our motives. If we are pure in heart, we are assured that we will be the ones that will see God.
